Gym on the roof included a robot dance and balls in parachutes.
Then we all went to the nearby playground. Max loves his teachers, Ms. Lopez & Ms. Talebian, and we think they are pretty great too.
He was pretty excited to go back in September. He got a special back-to-school haircut.
Mark took the morning off work and we all rode the bus together.
We tried to get a photo with the whole family but Max just wanted to flirt with his classmates. At his school, kids stay in the same classroom with the same teachers and most of the same students for three years.
Max loves school. Two weeks ago he tripped coming up the stairs to the classroom and got a gash in his forehead. At the walk-in clinic (he ended up with 5 stitches), he kept saying ‘I want to go back to school and do my work.’ Promises of TV, iPad and chocolate were not as appealing to him as school. Here is some of his recent work; he’s reading, writing and doing two-digit addition and subtraction – he’s come a long way since counting last June. Still working on perfecting the robot dance…
