Max’s celebration of his first Indepedence Day started the night before with the arrival of Nonna, who squeezed a visit to NYC in between the arrival of her fourth and fifth grandchildren.

On the Fourth, we braved record heat to attend a yummy barbeque in New Jersey. Mark helped man the grill while Nonna and Max stayed cool inside.

During the ferry ride home we got a great view of the Manhattan skyline.

On Monday Mark had the day off work, so he got to take Max to swim class at the pool on our roof. Which gave Brittney the chance to take lots of photos and videos.

Some of Max’s favorite dry land activities are safer in the pool, like going on Daddy’s shoulders.
