Happy New Year!

100_0163

Max’s first resolution for 2010 is to get over a yucky lingering cold (his first) that he’s had for way too long.

Other goals include learning to roll over, laugh, crawl, walk…

2010 is going to be a busy year!

Merry Christmas

We were far from our families this Christmas, but we still had a nice holiday with our new little family. cimg0367
Max thought of one more thing he wanted from Santa, who fortunately stopped by Mark’s office on the morning of Christmas Eve.

Too many presents…

cimg0385 What did Max ask Santa for? Seems Max wanted more than penguins to play with next Christmas, and five cousins plus one on the way weren’t quite enough. During the Jensen family Christmas day conference call, Uncle Jeff and Aunt Casey told us that Max has one more cousin coming in June. Thanks Santa!

Tis The Season

Max is busy in December, with so many holidays to celebrate:
Lighting the Chanukah candles

Decorating the Christmas tree while his first snowstorm raged outside

And the best part of celebrating two holidays? Double the presents!
Eight night of gifts from Bubbe & Poppy

An early Christmas present from Nonna & Grandpa

After meeting Sophie and Breanne, what Max wanted most of all for Chanukah/Christmas was more cousins. He got his wish on December 19th when Mark’s sister Rebecca gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Ryan Alexandria. He’s excited to meet her, plus his big cousins Sam and Anna, and Aunt Courtney’s baby coming in June.

Now if we could only find an aluminum pole for Festivus… (Max likes the high strength to weight ratio)

Max’s First Trip

On December 11th, Max took his first plane flight; a long one to Orange County, California to see lots of family and friends. He was a great flyer and had lots of fun at his grandparents’, where he met some very important people…

His twin cousins Sophie and Breanne. They don’t quite understand how to play gently (or that you’re not supposed to eat rabbit pooh you find at the park), so they were allowed to look but not touch. They liked to point at him and say ‘baby,’ one of their first words. They are one year older than Max; it is hard to believe he will ever be that big.

More Grandparents!

Max always smiles when he thinks of all the relatives who keep coming to visit to give him lots of love. Last weekend. Mark’s dad Don and his wife Cindy (aka Papa and Grandma) came from Florida to meet their Grandson. Despite some freezing rain (which Max likes to watch through the clear waterproof cover on his stroller), we went out to Central Park, some good restaurants, and a gallery in Soho where Max was fascinated by some brightly colored Miro prints. But Max happily spent most of the weekend being cooed at in his grandparents arms. img_1075

cimg02981 Tomorrow Max takes his first plane flight to California, where he gets to see Nonna and Grandpa Jensen again and meet some very important people, including his Great-Grandma Thomas and his cousins Sophie and Breanne. And he remembers his Bubbe in Florida every time he wears these beautiful mittens and sweater she knit for him. Such a lucky boy to have so many people who love him.
